General

1.1 Contestants need to be aware of the rules.

1.2 Contestants should be students within the Netherlands (and / or e.g. part of an esports team of the university or a player of the university football club in the Netherlands).

1.3 Playing schedule will be communicated through the Studenten Esports Nederland discord server and on lanergy.

1.4 Games need to be played in the time span given (see 4.4).

1.5 Games from the final will be streamed by the home-playing team, this can be done via share-play or via a stream.

1.6 The winner will get a little prize and eternal glory, as well as the opportunity to play an 'ultimate final' against FC Twente esports.

1.7 Registering for the tournament needs to be done 1/2 week before the start of the tournament, so registration needs to be done before 27th of January 2021.





Guidelines

2.1 Contestants need to be enrolled in teams of one or two (teams of two need to play on the same console).

2.2 Games are played on the PS4.

2.3 Contestants need to include their Ultimate Team club name and the discord name of the team captain within the enrollment on Lanergy. 

2.4 Contestants need to contact the opposing team captain to schedule the matchup within the given timespan.

2.5 If the games are not played because both teams are not able to play, before the time span is run out, the winner will be determined by a coin flip.

2.6 If the games are not played because one of the teams is unable to play, this team will get the loss. (has to be proven)

2.7 The ranking

2.7.1 Points is leading in the standings

2.7.2 Goal difference comes second

2.7.3 Result between the teams comes third

2.7.4 If all this is equal, an extra game will be played with golden goal

2.8 The knock-out rounds will be best of 3



Fifa game settings

3.1 All matches within the tournaments from one team will be played with the same (one or two) players. In case of illness or other reasons of unavailability to play, the team needs to contact the admin, as well as the opposing team.

3.2 The games will be played through online friendlies

3.3 The teams used will be of ‘Ultimate Team’, with specific restrictions.

3.3.1 Teams with two players will have a maximum squad rating of 83, with at least golden players on the bench. The starting line-up can consist of whichever players you would like.

3.3.2 Teams with one individual player will have a maximum squad rating of 80, with at least golden players on the bench. The starting line-up should contain at least 3 silver players (can only be substituted after first half).

3.4 The usage of custom lineups (changing player positions with ‘square’), is prohibited. Only lineups that are predetermined within the game are allowed.

3.5 If the connection is lost (either to the EA servers or between players), the match will be restarted, set back to the current score and the current minute, and played on.

3.6 The use of loan players and attribute cards is prohibited.



Tournament setup

4.1 The tournament setup depends on the amount of contesting teams. If there are 16+ teams, 2+ groups of a maximum of 8 teams will be made. The knockout phase will consist of 8 teams.

4.2  If there are less than 16 registrations, 2 groups of maximum 8 teams will be made. The knockout phase will consist of 4 teams.

4.3  If there are less than 8 registrations, 1 group of maximum 8 teams will be made. The knockout phase will consist of 4 teams.

4.4 Every week, two matchups (two rounds as generated on Lanergy) will be played by every team. One matchup consists of two games where the total score is added up. The team thus has to play rounds 1 and 2 in week 1, rounds 3 and 4 in week 2 etc.

4.5 After the group stage, a bracket is generated for the knockout stage. The (possible) quarter final and semi finals will be played on a time scheduled between the two teams, at least three days before the final. The final will be played on a, to be announced, date and time.



Report match scores

5.1 Both teams will send confirmation through a photo and text of the score towards one of the FIFA student competition staff members within Discord.

5.2 All match reports should be sent before Wednesday following the week in which the matchup was scheduled.



Behaviour

6.1 Each person that is part of the tournament (staff and participants) will be treated with respect, and will treat all the others with respect.

6.2 Threats, racism, violence or other unrespectful behaviour can result in disqualification of the tournament, and possibly future tournaments

6.3 The crew has the right to suspend a player from a tournament and future tournaments.

6.4 Cheating within the games or taking performance enhancing substances will result in a disqualification of the tournament, and possibly future tournaments.



Crew

7.1 Questions and problems can be reported through contact with the admin.

7.2 There is mutual respectful behaviour between crew and players.

7.3 Admin has the final word to make decisions.



Other

8.1 The organisation will have the rights to take decisions that are not specified (enough) within the rules.

8.2 The organisation will have the rights to change or update the rules, in special cases such as software updates or releases of the game.
